The Ski School program is designed to expose school age children to an outdoor lifestyle that promote physical fitness. In the day-to-day race of life we often forget the importance of physical fitness and its enhancement of intellectual development. One of the benefits of skiing /snowboarding as opposed to the likes of hockey or soccer is that the challenge is on a very personal level. There is ultimately a competition with oneself and success does not depend on the besting of others. It offers the individual an opportunity to participate at his/her own level. The introduction and participation of skiing/snowboarding provides a basis and sets a benchmark for a lifelong outdoor involvement.

The Cape Breton Ski Club (Ski Ben Eoin) and its snow school, a mix of instructors and coaches, have introduced an all inclusive program from the entry level to advanced skier.

Alpine Canada has helped the ski industry across Canada formulate a program that meets all the basis of learning from learning to ski in a fun environment to choices for the consumer as participants progress throughout the program.

The program consists of (7) seven skill sets, each broken into 3 components.  Participant’s progress is tracked upon entry to completion of program. This gives each participant, along with their parent and coaching staff, a step-by-step detail of progression followed by a set of skills and drills for the participant to practice.

The consolidation of youth programs results in a revamped snow school with a single focus to deliver quality programs.

This program is for those athletes that are willing to make the commitment to become advanced skiers. It focuses on individual fitness and technical skills, development of agility, body alignment, flexibility, balance, coordination and speed. As well, you can expect to be well versed in the fundamentals of slalom, GS, and the benefits of participation in complimentary sports. These will be regular evaluations of all skiers and a number of fun races.

K 1 Program
Anyone aged 9-12 interested in training with the K1's this fall are invited to contact the Ben Eoin Ski Team. We try to meet every two weeks on Sat or Sun. training usually consists of hiking, running exercises and physical fitness tests. Following the outdoor sessions we spend 30-45 min inside working on the mental training side of ski racing. This is a fun program which is directed at developing strong skiing skills. Some of the athletes choose to race while others join to improve their skiing skills.This training follows the outline of the Husky Snow Stars Program. Masters Race Camp

A fun mix ranging from beginner basics to expert instruction. This program includes various themes designed to improve your skiing ability on specific types of snow conditions and terrain. Also offered is race training for advanced enthusiasts interested in learning gates, weighting, carving, etc.

Teach your toddler to ski by enrolling them in Tots Camp. Ski Ben Eoin’s Tots Camp provides a fun and safe environment with knowledgeable and experienced instructors every weekend during the Ski season. Parents are also provided an opportunity to ski or snowboard while little ones are attending Tot Camp.

This latest program for snowboarders combines skills development with thrill-seeking fun! Program instruction includes working the rolls, banks, table top, ½ pipe and the rough.

Throughout the eight weeks, we will host two or three fun competitive events. This is a fun league run by CASI for entry level athletes, aged 6 to 14.

Adult Learn to Snowboard

This program is tailored to adults (19+) wishing to learn how to ride the tables, do the pipe or keep up with the kids!

Tuesday Night Racing is an adult recreational race. Every Tuesday we get together for some easy racing and a little socializing. There are lots of sponsors, great food specials and some big prizes at the end. So get off your duff and we will see you on Tuesday night.
